The proper temperature for most marine aquarium fish is between 72 & 78 degrees Fahrenheit, with 76 being "ideal."  These temperatures need to be stable, as any rapid fluctuation in water temperature could kill your fish.

To accomplish these stable temperatures use the following tips:

  1.  Check the temperature of your water daily using an aquarium thermometer.

  2. Top Fin Floating Aquarium Thermometer

  3. Use an aquarium heater with a built in thermostat.

  4. Top Fin Aquarium Heaters

  5. Make sure new water is the same temperature as the water in the aquarium before performing a water change.

  6. Acrylic aquariums are better insulators than glass aquariums, therefore a smaller heater is required to heat acrylic aquariums.
